About Us

On behalf of our wonderful community, Village Hall, and the Board of Trustees,  welcome  to the Village of Dolton, “A Community Working Together.”
.
The Dolton Village Hall Harper Municipal Building, 14014 Park Avenue is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. We are closed on Saturday. This building houses the clerk’s office, comptroller’s office, revenue/administrative services department (water), housing department, Mayor’s office, board of trustees’ offices and the village attorney’s office.

The Village of Dolton is a thriving community, boasting more than 25,000 residents. We are located about 23 miles south of Downtown Chicago, and we have often been referred to as the “Gateway to the South Suburbs.”

Established in 1837, the village was named after its founder, George Dolton. It was incorporated in 1892. Since that time the village has continued to grow and flourish. Now the Village is bursting with valuable businesses that allow our residents to shop where they live. From grocery stores to auto repair, restaurants to shopping centers, a thriving motel and the state-of-the-art Melanie Fitness Center, Dolton is one of the premier cities in the south suburbs.

Economic and community development are a priority in Dolton. Restaurants, gas and convenience stations, new homes, street reconstruction and shopping centers have been developed over the last two years, and much more is on the way.
