VILLAGE OF DOLTON

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

The Village of Dolton invites Statements of Qualifications from Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) pre-qualified engineering firms to assist the Village in completing professional engineering services for : Phase I – Preliminary Engineering, Phase II – Design Engineering and Phase III – Construction Engineering, for the Cottage Grove Avenue Resurfacing Project from Lincoln Avenue to 138th Street. The Cottage Grove Avenue Resurfacing Project is being federally funded with STP funds through the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association. Therefore, this consultant selection will be in accordance with the Qualification Based Selection (QBS) guidelines in the Brooks Act (40 USC 11) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requirements for Procurement, Management, and Administration of Engineering and Design Related Services (23 CFR 172). Consultant interviews will not be conducted. Consultants will be evaluated in the following areas:

1. Firm’s Experience.

2. Team’s Experience and Qualifications, including Subconsultants.

3. Key Personnel Expertise/Past Performance, including Subconsultants.

4. Technical Approach to Project and

5. Local Presence.

Two (2) paper copies and one (1) electronic copy of the responding firm’s Statement of Qualification are to be submitted no later than 3:00 PM on March 23, 2026. Important Voter Update (Cook County Clerk’s Office)

The Village of Dolton is sharing an important voter information update from the Cook County Clerk’s Office regarding vote-by-mail ballot postmark changes for the March 17, 2026 Primary Election. Please review the attached flyers for official guidance, including the summary of what has changed, why it matters, and the reminders provided to help residents protect their ballots and make informed voting decisions.

Residents who plan to vote by mail should rely on the Cook County Clerk’s Office materials and official election resources for the most current instructions, timelines, and options referenced in the flyers (including mail return and secure drop-off information). For accuracy, please follow the directions shown in the flyers and any updates posted by the Cook County Clerk’s Office before submitting your ballot.

Free Flood Assistance for Dolton Homeowners


If your basement has flooded or your home has been impacted by storm damage, help is available. Mayor Jason House, the Board of Trustees, and the Office of the Clerk encourage residents to take advantage of free flood recovery assistance being provided by the South Suburban Recovery Group. This support is designed to help homeowners recover from natural disasters, including guidance and resources to rebuild, restore, and stabilize after flooding.

Local Work Opportunity for Dolton Residents


Mayor Jason House, the Board of Trustees, and the Office of the Village Clerk are encouraging residents to take advantage of local employment opportunities available through the South Suburban Recovery Group at the ABBA Center. Residents can join a flood cleanup team supporting families affected by basement flooding in Dolton and throughout the South Suburbs—an opportunity to earn income while helping neighbors recover and rebuild.

How It Works / How to Apply

Envision Unlimited: Free Mental Health Wellness & Education Series (March 2026)

Envision Unlimited’s Cultural Faith-Based Empowerment Program is offering a free Community Mental Health Wellness & Education Series for adults ages 18+ at the Village of Dolton Resource Hub. This series is designed to strengthen emotional resilience and mental well-being through culturally relevant education, creative expression, and peer connection. Each session introduces a different healing-centered topic and practical tools participants can use in everyday life.

Schedule: Mondays, March 2–March 30, 2026 | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM

March 2026 Session Lineup

  • March 2, 2026 – The Weight We Carry
    Focus: Identifying and releasing invisible emotional burdens. Activities include a reflective “mental backpack” exercise, story circle, grounding practice, and a take-home wellness tool.

  • March 9, 2026 – Trust Falls and Soul Calls
    Focus: Processing betrayal and broken trust. Activities include storytelling and emotional safety reflection, a boundary-setting activity, and a group conversation on what rebuilding trust looks like.

  • March 16, 2026 – Pressure Points
    Focus: Understanding the signs of stress and anxiety. Activities include mind-body awareness practice, healthy pressure vs. toxic stress discussion, and journaling plus breathing techniques.

Additional March sessions continue the series with:

  • March 23, 2026 – More Than Enough (affirming dignity and value beyond productivity; affirmation and values-based activities)

  • March 30, 2026 – Joy is a Rebellion (cultivating joy as a form of restoration; journaling, gratitude, and celebration-focused activities)
