Envision Unlimited – Living Room: Community Mental Health Education in Dolton
Dolton residents ages 18+ are invited to free, in-person mental health education offered by Envision Unlimited’s Living Room program. These sessions create a welcoming, stigma-free space to learn about mental wellness, ask questions, and connect with resources. The goals are simple: engage the community in meaningful conversations about mental health, learn practical skills together, and understand crisis-prevention and intervention options available to residents.
Classes are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, with Envision Unlimited staff onsite from 2:00–3:30 PM. Each 60-minute class includes about 30 minutes of topic guidance followed by 30 minutes of Q&A and group discussion. Staff remain available for an additional 30 minutes afterward to address individual concerns and help with next steps, including linkage to peer mentor and therapy services.
Location: Village of Dolton Resource Center (directly south of Village Hall), 14122 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Dolton, IL 60419.
Cost: Free. Resources and referrals are available at no charge.
Topics rotate through the season and include: improving overall well-being; recognizing and responding to common mental-health concerns; practical strategies for alleviating anxiety and depression; two-part sessions on healing from personal or community betrayal; and skills for reducing personal and social stressors (communication tools, conflict resolution, and building supportive relationships). Some dates may shift around holidays; please check the Village calendar for updates.
Whether you’re supporting a loved one, leading in the community, or focusing on your own health, the Living Room classes offer down-to-earth guidance, time for questions, and a direct path to services if you want them. All adults are welcome.
